Re: loud clunk from front end..
look under the bed and you will see the shock mounts, check the top of the mount between the bed and the frame make sure it is tight. You can use a adjustable cresent wrench to hold the post from turning while adjusting the upper shock mount nut if need be.
look at your ball joints and tie rod ends in the front end, if the boots for the ball joints are split, top and bottom of the spindle, good chance the joints are gone. You can jack it up and see if there is any play in the wheels, grab the top of the tire and wiggle it toward you, shouldnt be any play.
the tie rod ends are off the rack and pinion, attaching to the spindle, where the brake rotor and wheel are attached. grab it and wiggle should be no play there either.
