Ya I have had that happen to me befor I think as long as it tells me when my tank is full and then when it is empty I am ok. As far as why it does it I think the the sender unit that is in the gas tank has a dead spot or two and when u hit them the gaude hose cazzy thought I had put a hole in the tank the first time it happened.
Also this has been covered befor on the site I am to lazzy to do the search but it's on here some were it has some more info.
