    Default "Free" alarm

Well, I did the "free" alarm mod to my '03 V-8 access cab SR5 yesterday. I've been looking through the posts, and I couldn't find an answer to my question. I pulled the jumper wire from behind the driver's kick panel, and that's it, the alarm functions began working. Somewhat close to where the jumper was installed, is a connector of the same type that was on the jumper wire and it's not connected to anything. Do I need to plug this into where I removed the jumper? Is this only for the glass breakage sensor and the indicator light? Thank you all for your help in advance

I havent heard of this mod. I searched and found some info on the gen2, but nothing on gen1. Do you have a link to this process?

I have a 2005. I bought the alarm and installed it myself. It included removing the aformentioned jumper wire and plugging in the flashing LED and beeper unit. Cost about $200. Pull the jumper wire and you are all set without the flashy light and beeper. doug

I did the mod on my 05AC and it cost about $20 for the dash mounted indicator light. I've lost all the instructions for it, but it's not difficult if you can find the directions here. I bought the part from Connicelli. I hope the spelling's right. After doing the mod and recalibrating the GBR, do the auto lock/unlock and unlock all doors at once mod as well.

I actually found the instructions. Check all posts from "Jonesie" and you should find them; otherwise, I can probably scan em in. The wires on the new status monitor have to be taken out of their connector and inserted into a 4 pin connector in the truck. Jonesie did a helluva job detailing all the step-by-step instructions if they are still onsite.

I did some searching and found this thread:
    RS3000 Security, TOTAL RIP OFF

It looks pretty promising, although I didn't get to read the whole thing. I also found these instructions for an 03 which should work on 03-05s.

    HOW-TO: Upgrade to RS3200Plus for $5

I will try it this weekend If I have time. I will post if I get this to work.

so to dis engage the system do you just put the key in the ign.? or do you need a key fob?

Actually just read the links and looks like since I dont have a remote I wont be able to do this.

oh thanks for the pics too.

well from what i understand it wont work unless you have the keyless entry already...and if you do but dont have the fobs then i believe the key in the ignition will disengage it and its also disarmed but using the key on the door.
