A few months ago I put a magnaflow 14" muffler on my truck (05 DC V8).
I thought that would make it loud enough, but its just not. I love the sound of the magnaflow, i just want it to be louder.
Anything i can do to make it louder?

Do you have the factory resonator still installed? Many will claim 'zero performance gain and horrible drone'... but to each their own. I removed my resonator and just had a muffler shop fab up a custom y-pipe and extra foot of pipe to connect to my Gibson single side exhaust.
I loved the sound of my Gibson, but it was too quiet for me. After removal of the resonator, the sound was not only louder, but throatier as well. I did not notice any drone, but you must take into account that my cab is Dynamatted.

i had a cherrybomb single in and dual out was ok. cut out the stupid resonator 3 days later made it sound a hole lot better. got bored with that so now running straights with a y. sound is amazing. also have jba headers which helped the sound a lot as well. ill try tom n see if i can get a sound bite for u

I'm glad to hear that other people removed the resonator and kept it off. I remember when I posted about taking mine off, there were a LOT of people telling me it was a BAD idea (horrible drone, loss of power, etc.)
Ever since I took mine off, my quiet little Gibson came to life.

I felt the same way with my 14" can. A few days after the clamped install it spit the tail pipe out. It sounded awesome but the drone was horrible so, I dumped it right out of the can. I noticed it made a woosh sound so, I pointed it towards the tire a bit. Sounds great, I left the resinator and I have no drone. I would do it like this again. Plus I don't have to worry about backing into snow banks loading snow mobiles and stuff...
I've got a flowmast 40 series single in, dual out. When I put the exhaust system in, it seemed too quiet for me, chopped off the resonator, 6 years later, it still sounds good. BTW, has anybody ran true duals with headers on their Tundra? I'm looking at doing this, but unsure because these engines are kind of "touchy-feely" when you mess with the intake and exhaust.

sup guamguy and everyone else!
New to the forums but not new to Toyota's! I have been in a Toyota Family since I was old enough to drive (with an exception of my first car, Nissan Stanza). I currently own a 2002 Toyota Tundra Access Cab 2WD V8! Bought used with 89,000 miles it came with a Cat Back Exhaust on it. It's a single to dual system with 2 1/2 inch tips coming out to the bumper. After about 3 days of driving the truck I decided to take a saw'zall to the pipes and cut them back to the exhaust...It has a nice sound and is well I'd say loud enough. I can try to get a video up of it .
To answer you question tho my father has a 2000 Tundra with some old *** straight pipes that his father used to have on an old GTO. These are so old you can't even get them anymore. They are (if my memory serves me correct) Thrush pipes. They have Woody the Woodpecker on them as the company logo. They are in great condition tho for there age! His truck is pretty freakin loud with those and as far as I know there was no change in engine performance as for getting worse or going down. I can call my dad and find out more info if it would help.
Well now its time to find my way over to the suspension threads! Hope I could help
