Another option ,if the other suggestions fail, is to remove a coulpe bolts from the upper driver's side timing belt cover, this will let you get a "peak" at the backside of the timing belt and it should be quite obvious if it's recently replaced or original, I did this on my 2000 when I got the transmission sorted out and realized at 175,000 it had probably never been done, I was so scared by the looks of the belt I didn't even start the truck again until I was pulling it into the garage to replace the pump, and belt etc. Scott
