Bug Shield Types
I am looking to buy a good bug shield, but not sure which brand is recommended or which one looks the best on my 03 AC.
Please post some Bud Shield photos and the brand type.

Mine's just the cheapo from Ventshade. It looks okay and has been solid. Not sure of the differences between this one and the 03 up though.

Re: Bug Shield Types
Who makes the one that bolts on under the grill instead of behind it?

Re: Bug Shield Types
That would be the FORM FIT bug shield.
It really is "form fit" and requires the removal of the grill surround to install it, since it gets mounted behind it. It very closely follows the countour of the hood lines and also goes down the front on either side of the grill. Very clean in appearance and no holes to drill.
Here it is on my '01. Sorry for not having a better pic, but maybe there are others' rides with it in the gallery. I'd definitely buy it again.
I got mine from Carson Toyota.

Re: Bug Shield Types
I just bought an '04 DC with the Form Fit bug deflector/hood protector. It looked very nice and did not shake going down the road. Hardly notced it was on there. The high speed dryer at the car wash blew it loose on one side, then broke it before I could get out of there. I will buy another and make sure it is installed right. I only had the truck 2 weeks when it happened.
I had another brand on my '02 that I gave my 17 yo son, it looked like crap and shook. I took it off. It did not deflect any bugs, barely protected any hood.

Re: Bug Shield Types
Looks like AVS / Lund. My truck came with one but I took it off. Apparently you have to get it installed JUST right.
