Request: Turn parking lights on non-DRL DC into DRLs - Toyota Tundra Forums : Tundra Solutions Forum

Is it possible? Is there a link somewhere? All I can find is foglight mods with and without DRLs, and how to disable DRLs. I want to hook up just the 168 bulbs in the headlight housing to be DRLs. My truck does not have DRLs currently. Thanks for the info in advance.

I'm pretty sure you can buy DRL wiring kits, maybe just wire it into the park lights instead of headlights.

I found that the DRL kits will leave your dash lights on. Not a big deal but then you can't see the radio and such in the sunlight.

I wired up my front parking lights and the small lights found in the headlight to be on when the vehicle is turned on. There were theories on the net as to which DRL is better, amber or white. I figure I got both.

I think an easy way to do that would be just to splice power off of the accessory line somewhere and run it to the lights. those 168 lights draw very little power so you wouldn't need a relay. so pretty much the only cost involved would be your time and some wire.

If I already have DRL, is there an easy way to set just the small parking light bulbs in the headlight housing as the DRL?

I am going to get some LEDs, either amber or super white, and I would like to have just those running as my DRL.

I tried that but the light output from those little bulbs wasn't enough to notice in the daylight. I wired the fogs with a resistor and relay for DRL's. I don't have factory DRL's.
