Three years ago mine cost $711.73 at the dealership.
The repair breaks down as follows:
Replace timing belt, water pump, and drive belt.
6.5 hours @ $440.00
Total parts: $271.73
PN: Toy 96761-24019 O ring $3.44
PN: Toy 96761-35035 O ring $3.74
PN: Toy 13568-09070 Belt, Timing $59.50
PN: Toy 16100-59275-83 Pump Assy, Water $137.57
PN: Toy 90916-A2003 Belt, V-Ribbed $47.25
PN: Toy 00272-1LLAC-01 Antifreeze, Gallon W $20.23
I probably could have done without the sepentine belt but since it had to come off for the repair anyway why not replace it and save the labor? Some folks don't replace the water pump either but that's a calculated risk.
Hope this helps.
About the same cost and time frame. Well worth the peace of mind
This is also a very good time to replace the cam seals and the crank seal. Only a couple bucks and your right there.
Good observation kenairmk. Since the whole front is now accessible why not address these items? It just makes sense to take advantage of the timing belt labor to cover these small details.

My dealer told me $522 to just replace the timing belt. I heard it is always good idea to replace water pump if it may need it while they are changing belt. One garage quoted me about $900 if they had to also replace pump and tensioner.
My dealer quoted me $315 +tax, including the serpentine belt. I have a feeling this is one of those "while we were in there we noticed you also need...." things. Its common to give a low initial price to get your foot in the door, then tack on stuff you didn't want to mention for fear of scaring the customer away. Plumbers do it everyday.

tun,
Do you happen to have a friend that is a Service Writer? I know when i had mine done it costs me about that with tax. I had to pay for the water pump and timing belt and 30mins labor. I had a "cam seal leak" on mine that was covered under the extended warranty.

every winter my dealer sends out a coupon for $320. I used it a year ago, with no nickel and diming.
The water pump is an additional $250 though.

sizematters, I know the writers wife, but never brought it up to him. as far as he knows we're strangers. I feel weird going 'hey man I know your wife!" some guys might react funny to that.
that price doesn't include the water pump, tensioner, or cam seals. those all sound like good things to do while their doing it. The writer told me the price includes time belt, serpentine belt, and 4hrs time. sounds cheap, maybe too cheap... When I get ti done I'll let you know if they stick to it.

Dex told me he would charge around $600 and that would include the H2O pump, which should be replaced just because it is the same basic job.
