i haven't done it, but noticed the dealership in my town charges around 500 for a v8 timing belt change. they had a board hanging up in their service department with a list of common services with prices.
you could prolly price a new water pump and add 50 to 100 % for labour just to get an idea.
You can expect ~$800 more or less at the dealer. If local shop is doing it, price will be less but varies from place to place. You just have to check with each individual one and find a mechanic that you could trust. Make sure they replace with good quality parts.
i asked my mechanic to shoot me an estimate but I'm still waiting on him to get back to me. I know I am way over due for a belt change, the water pump I'll never be sure of, but who can? it's like buying a pair of shoes, you don't just get one, you get the package i suppose

Did mine at independent shop with OEM parts, timing belt and water pump. Cost me $790. Be sure to replace tensioner as well, don't let them reuse that.
Three years ago mine cost $711.73 at the dealership.
The repair breaks down as follows:
Replace timing belt, water pump, and drive belt.
6.5 hours @ $440.00
Total parts: $271.73
PN: Toy 96761-24019 O ring $3.44
PN: Toy 96761-35035 O ring $3.74
PN: Toy 13568-09070 Belt, Timing $59.50
PN: Toy 16100-59275-83 Pump Assy, Water $137.57
PN: Toy 90916-A2003 Belt, V-Ribbed $47.25
PN: Toy 00272-1LLAC-01 Antifreeze, Gallon W $20.23
I probably could have done without the sepentine belt but since it had to come off for the repair anyway why not replace it and save the labor? Some folks don't replace the water pump either but that's a calculated risk.
Hope this helps.

I had mine done last March and my local dealership wanted $660, but after the water pump add on and the serpentine belt and all, it was up around $800-900.
I used to be able to do the stuff but don't have the time or the inclination anymore.
Parts: ~$230
Labor: ~$300-$500 (depending on whether independent shop or dealer)
Great lead, thanks duff man. I am in the process of pulling the trigger on all these parts. Rockauto had an Aisin kit for $162 which unfortunately turned into $262 before I finalized the purchase. Must have been an error they picked up on.
Did you buy this kit? I don't see it as including the hydraulic tensioner? Did yours?
Thanks again,
Darren

I just had mine done last weekend. Total cost was $620. This was done by a guy that works full time with Toyota and does work on the weekends for his friends.
I thought a few people on this board did a step-by-step write up on replacing the timing belt. I did some looking and haven't found it yet. Anyone know where that link is? Thinking of doing it myself.
go to IH8MUD.com - Your Online Offroad Tech Resource. the land cruiser section has quite a bit of info on changing the TB. Same engine in the 100 series. I changed the TB and serpentine at 118K. Cost about $400.00 but both still looked fine. didn't bother with the WP. At 145K now and now problems as of yet(knock on wood).
