2004 Tundra V6 5spd cutting out and stalling - Toyota Tundra Forums : Tundra Solutions Forum

Hi, I'm new to the board and this is my first Tundra but not my first Toyota.

I bought the truck from the original owner and it has 108k on it. I'm not sure what maintenance he did to it.

Anyways the engine cut out on the freeway last week for about 2-3 seconds at 80 mph and then resumed and ran fine until today when it has been cutting out every 5-10 minutes while driving any speed.

Also, It has a slight miss at idle and stalled & died tonight in a drive-thru.

These are the items I've done so far: Plugs, air filter, MAF & throttle body cleaning.

Hopefully someone has had a similar issue and can help. Do these trucks go through fuel-pumps the way my chevy's did?

I haven't herd much about fuel pumps going but I'm sure a fuel filter isn't going to hurt you.

also could be a coil pack surging, it will eventually fail and throw a code if in fact that is an issue, just thinking out loud sort of?

Changed the fuel filter, seemed like it was running better but then last night it cut out again for a second.

Anyone else have any ideas? I'm hesitant to take it to the shop because of how intermittent the problem is, I feel like they'd be guessing too and I don't want to throw parts at it.
