Default Making instrument panel lights brighter?

I wanted to know if there was a way on making my intrument panel lights brighter without replacing the actual bulbs? Or is that the only solution to this? The lights have become too dim even at the brightest setting (of course due to time) but I wanted to see if there was a way around it without removing the panel, replacing the lights, etc, I don't want to take the risk of soldering anything since I've never attempted before.

Your best bet would be to replace the bulbs or take off the rubber covers on the bulbs, providing that they have covers on them. I do not know of any other way without removing the instrument cluster. I've read on here before that you could sand down the green layer on the numbers from the back to make the spedo white and brighter.

The instrument panel is really not hard to remove. Just a few screws and it pops right out as I recall.

i did a little more research and it looks like the only way to achieve this is to remove the panel. what is the process of removing those bulbs from the panel like?

its actually not to bad. I changed all my bulbs a while back. I changed them to red bulbs( without bulb covers). Got them from auto zone. There are alot brighter at night i think. I also changed the bulbs in the doors and the ones that control your head/a/c.

how long did it take you for the bulb changes? i haven't found the thread on it yet... my forum searching skills aren't honed yet.

i'm interested in doing all my interior lighting (including gauge clusters) in LEDs.

Sounds simple. Can you explain more on how to replace the bulbs? I mean are they easily removeable from the instrument panel or do you have to yank them out, etc?

I replaced all of my bulbs to LEDS in a parking lot. Took me about twenty minutes. I cannot recall the number of screws to remove, but I think it was less than 8 screws. I used a set of needle nose pliers to remove the old bulbs and that was it. The only part that took me the longest was I had to flip the LED's around to get current in them. I am sure someone has a write up on how to remove the dash on the forum.

Yeah its very simple to do. Are you just trying to do he lights behind the instrument panel? mine came right out just like a headlight bulb comes out of the lens. Took a total of 20 mins to do also.
