Well after a little inibriated exscursion this weekend I found at that 24's on a truck that I drive isn't practical. Offroading with them and finding a very large stump results in a $1200.00 rim crack. So I decided to go a little more practical with my truck so I figured I would get everyones opinion.
A close friend had a set of the 20" Enki Deep Six rims sitting in his garage he gave me. So i chose to go with a 305/55R20 Cooper Zeon LTZ All-Terrain.
I must say I forgot how well these trucks ride till today when i went and picked it up from the shop.
Heres the more recent design.
This was prior to this weekend

I like the style of the 22's you had, but 22's are a little big for the Gen 1 body in my opinion. I think your truck looks better now with the 20's. Besides, you should feel a little extra power with the better gear ratio back now. Expensive lesson to learn...
weren't you the victim of a LOT of heckling when you asked for people's opinions after getting the 24's?? if i remember correctly the "practicality" argument was a big one (hehehe).
but it all seriousness, it looks great now. i too, am sorry you had to find out the hard way, that's never fun. but i'm definitely a fan of the new look over the 24's

Yes it was me that had the heated debate when I had the 24's put on but wasnt it fun and I still got my point across. To curve my pavement ponder apeal i've bought my brothers 98 GMC short box that im gonna slam and put it on 26's for the fun of it. I do miss it cause it was something not seen everyday. It did suck when it happened cause it scared the living hell out of me (talk about a buzz kill). Not to mention I had the Flowmasters screaming when it happened and u could here the rim crack over 5k RPM.
navy,
I did keep the 1.5" wheel adapter to give me additional room. I did have to have some of the inner back fender cut and do rub some on the bottom lip of the bumper. Though I'm not running my Bilsteins at full lift. I plan on doing that this weekend. I dont rub anywhere on the frame or upper control arm. I have about 2" of clearence between the side of the tire and upper control arm which is great where before I couldnt fit my finger between it. Only thing that is gonna take some getting use to is I am a big stickler on keeping my truck clean and now with almost 2" of tire outside of the fenders I can kiss that good by.

i liked it better with the 24's like i said in that other thread when you first put them on because it was unique, now you are getting to look like the rest of us.
