Hi. How many guys have taligate ladders on their Tundra's? I've been looking at the Westin Model below and think I going to dive in and get one. I know getting in and out of the bed sure looks a lot nicer with one of these. Anyone have this model or one they really like?

Just you wait, Pete!! Every donkey has his day. I never saw the need for such a thing, either, until a few years ago; when I was your age, I just leapt right up there, too.

well that may come true but I'm fortunate now as is my father who's 72 and jumps right up in the truck bed too!

How about a truck bed step instead? I got one for a b-day present and I was able to bolt it right up to my 1st gen Tundra. It's a 2nd gen step. Here's a link to my photo gallery: 2nd gen bed step on a 1st gen Tundra. I only had to drill one hole and get a longer bolt. To get in and out of my Tundra with a 6" lift and 35's, this step is a lifesaver! Plus it folds up (spring loaded) right to the bottom of the bumper and is totally out of the way.

That 2nd step fits nice on your Tundra. I am looking for someting I can walk right up without breaking stride loading bags of salt or bags of landscape rocks, etc. Also this Westin Ladder looks kid friendly. I need a man step.......
I found the same Westin ladder on amazon for $113 with free shipping ............Just bought, should make loading and unloading easy............
Instead of that, i would have looked at atv loading ramps, some of those ramps now are pretty much like a ladder, but then you can say its a ramp for my atv instead of man step.

I'm getting the 6 step nerf bars installed on my truck next weekend (which will help getting in n out of the bed), but I wouldn't mind one of those bolt on ladders or that bed step.
I'd probly go with the bed step tho...

Thanks! I LOVE my bed step! My buddy with an 07' CrewMax got one for his Tundra, direct bolt on, and I asked him to remove it and let me hold it up to my Tundra. Lo' and behold I saw it would work! Removed a bolt or two, drilled a hole, bought a longer bolt and that sucker is on there.
However, I can see that for your intended use a ladder type of ramp would work better since probably both your hands would be full while getting in the back. I use one hand on the back of the bed rail as a grabbing point. I hope that ladder works well for you.

or you can look into dog ramps like the one I bought for my 110 lb Greater Swiss Mtn Dog...looks like stairs and called the petloader...more photos in the album dog ramp solutions...guess when/if I get old I can use them too!

Petloader - now that's what I need. Most times, now, I just stand a stepladder next to the tailgate, and one foot it up. Some days, even that won't work, and a skycrane would be a better solution. Sorry if I sound like sour grapes; being broken does not suit me, at all.
