being new here, I'm not sure if this is allowed or if its been covered. please excuse me if its not or has been.
Had to change this one, if its still not allowed, help me delete it. Again, I dont condone street racing.
Do any members here run their trucks at legal tracks, if so, what kind of vehicles have you beat or lost to?
also, did you have to add any safety equipment to your truck to conform with rules?

Reason: Dont want to break rules.
Read the site rules. Threads on street racing are not allowed (for a damn good reason) and will probably be deleted.
Just because some other mal-adjusted, thick-skulled, testosterone-fueled child thinks it's "cool" to put other lives in danger by racing on public highways doesn't mean you have to take the bait.

Good lord Duffy, he asked about racing at legal tracks--have a cold one and chill out!!
Tundrunk--jump over to the GenII forum and check out the ongoing thread about 1/8 and 1/4 mile times. There are some insane fast trucks on there.

I think there was some more said that got edited out before we could see it. Closest race for me (on the track)was my buddys 02 silverado 2wd reg cab short bed with the 5.3. It was close but I beat him more than once which amazed me. I also had stock tires on at the time.

Oh, if that is the case, then my apologies Duffy. It just looked like an awfully quick a$$ chewing.
I've raced a few Fords at an 1/8 mile track nearby. That was all done before I tore up the SC, so I only lost once. Lost to an F350 with a 12" lift on it that had crazy gears and beefed up twin turbo setup. Guy claimed it had over 800 hp at the wheels. I couldn't believe how fast it was. He put it in 4Hi and stomped it. Very little black smoke, but it sure took off--must have had a really good tuning on it!! He was outrunning Dodge SRT-10s and big-block Chevys all night. Had a big set of "Truck-Nuts" hanging off the back. HATED to see that thing pull away from me!!
Yeah its amazing watching a 3/4 or 1 ton truck run in the 12s or 13s. I wouldnt ever mess with a diesel even if it was a ford. There are some real sleepers out there. A guy a town over from me has a Dodge dually dump for his landscape company. It looks like a typical landscape truck, dents, company name on the door, ect. He runs low 14s at the track and it is so funny to watch. I dont know what hes got done, but its a cool a$$ work truck!

Those diesels have some things right, some things wrong. Having a massively overbuilt setup that can output twice the torque of a gas engine with just firmware upgrades is awesome. Unfortunately many of them saddle this wonderful powertrain with four tons of fully loaded quad cab land yacht, pile on another 1000 lbs of rotating mass and quicksand rolling resistance of 40" tires, barn door aerodynamics lift kits, then with all the ft-lbs torque they wonder why it only manages 14s.

I have a 02 tundra and 2000 F350 crew cab PSD. Both trucks have been trouble free. The tundra a has 125k and I have only had the 02 sensors go out. The Ford has 136k and has gone through one water pump and a glow plug relay. Now as far as racing them the Ford would out run it up hill, down hill and on flat ground. That is with a tuner of course. Without a tuner the Ford couldnt get out of it's own way with a tail wind.

Its funny to see that you own a Ford with your signature and all.

I started this the wrong way, thats why duffy had to uhh warn me. I agree the diesels are cheaters! a few mods and their easily over 600hp, new turbo and they can pass 800hp. I really hate how big they are though, its just too built and heavy for most guys who drive them and never tow. especially in socal where its "cool" to run 24"rims with 40"mud tires and 12" lifts. do they come with extenze? To each his own I guess.
