Re: Daystar Leveling Kit 1" will 285 75 16's Fit?
oh boy my friend, you're going to hear a lot of "there's a post on this". since I don't know how to add links yet, and you didn't give a lot of needed info, here's what you need to know. Anybody else feel free to help.
You need rims with backspacing of less than 4.5", thats the measure from the back of the rim to the hub/mount area. otherwise you need some nice wheel spacers if you want to run stock rims, again lots of posts to check. I cant think of the name but the commonly used ones round here are 1.5" I think stock rims are too skinny for 285s but Ive seen it done and members here seem to have no issues doing it.
now 1" of lift wont give you a lot of extra space for those tires, most people use 2" lift and a 1" diff drop to do it right. however, if you don't mind doing some trimming on your front bumper(mild) and pinch welds(the fender area close to the doors, more involved) then I think you can get away with it with minimal tire rub.
If you look at the off road section here, there is a sticky post about off roading mods and such. although I cant recall the exact name, DEVINSIXTYSEVEN and a few other valuable members compiled info here on what to and not do. Its the bible, find it, read it. many thanks to those who wrote it.
