How many of you will trade your Tundra Access Cab in for the new 2004 Tundra Double Cab?
Thanks.
I'd do it in 2 seconds without thinking twice.

Not for me, the size of the original Tundra was one of the primary reasons that I baught my truck in the first place. My 2002 hauls and tows everything that I want easily, and still fits in my single stall garage.
Other people may need a bigger truck, but for me more size would just be a pain to park. Wes
I would but I just cant afford it. I currently have a regcab, and I may just skip over the access cab (too small back seat) to the double cab when I can afford it. Either that or a titan. I cant wait until they get each on the lots here.
I have no need to pay about 15k for 2 extra doors. (assuming I got about 20K for my ride). My 2k is fine the way it is for my needs and I still plan to play with it. Some people may need more room for child seats or hauling people, but, for now, the DC does not excite me enough to make me want to take a major financial hit just to say I have 4 REAL doors. My ride only has 19K miles, so it is still new to me, and will only have 20k miles when I get it back on the road in 2 years. I guess it depends on what you want or need it for, but, basically, it is the same drivetrain as 00-03.... it just happens to have 4 drs. My .02.

Not for this cowboy. My ’00 is paid for. Retirement is only a few years off. I have a trouble free Tundra with 65,000 miles on the odometer and still with the original, vibration free brakes. They get, in my opinion, too much money for pick-up trucks these days. I think I’ll just hang on to the one I have now.
I gotta agree that one of the main things i liked about the Tundra was it's size. It's big enough for anything that I need to haul. The parking stalls in Hawaii are real small and I couldn't see trying to fit that monster in the tiny stalls we got here.
The back seat and extra room in the cab are very nice tho.
I really want a D/C! I'm content to wait til the new wears off and toyota bumps up the HP, though. So maybe late 2005? My son likes that idea since he gets his license around then and knows how i like to keep vehicles in the family. Lucky kid.
It's tempting but not unless Toyota puts a bigger engine in the DC. I'm gonna see how people like the DC performance wise, and make sure all the "bugs" are worked out before I do anything. Bigger engine, 4-wheel disc brakes and now your talking. But hey why mess up a good thing, I have enjoyed my Tundra
Just waiting for the dealer to call me. I intend to get a 4 X 2 Limited with the Supercharger and headers. Thats enough horses for me. If things dont work out with Toyota, Chevy Avalanche here I come.
Got a '00 access cab now. I could really use the 4 doors (baby and kids seats), but not sure I like the looks of the new truck (sort of the weanie dog effect going on with it's long box). Been driving my truck 3 years, and already getting somewhat tired of the looks, and the new truck doesn't look much different, so it would get old to me quickly. If I go 4 doors before Toyota does a complete makeover (new looks, bigger engine, 4 wheel discs), it'll be the new F150 for me.
I would like to,but it would cost at least $15000 to make the switch. Is a bigger backseat worth $15,000?
I am guessing that a lot of folks will change their minds when they see what they will get in trade in on the trucks that cost them $27,000 just 2-3 years ago.I think my Limited 2wd 2001 with 28,000 miles is worth maybe $17,000.
Nice truck,but is it worth $15000+your truck?Charlie
The only way I'll trade my 00 tundra is if Toyota offers a solid front axle truck again. They would have to offer it before I turn my tundra into a solid front axle. That's expected to happen within a couple of years. The SAS that is.
