    Default Plastidip?

Anyone have any experience with plastidip? I was thinking about plastidipping a few things on my truck and removing the pinstripe. Any suggestions, tips, or comments would be appreciated.

It is a spray on rubberized plastic basically. It can be used for a ton of things but a bunch of guy used it to cover there bumpers and other chrome stuff on their trucks because you don't have to do anything to the chrome besides cleaning it good before. Plus its a lot cheap than buying a new bumper then having it painted. It comes in spray cans at lowes/home depot/any hardwear store for like $5-6

its held up much better than any other the other rubberized bed liner coatings ive used (for rattle can anyways). I did my door sills in it and it has stayed ductile and hasnt chipped off like with regular bedliner. It doesn't spray on as think as I thought it would so I left the sills scuffed when i sprayed it which doesnt look great so thats something to be aware of. If you end up doing any chrome, let me know how it comes out. I may do my mirror caps over winter break and eventually the bumpers and grille if those come out decent.

A few of the Gen2 guys have used it on there trucks and have seen some decent results. Only complaint I have seen them talk about it is that it is hard to get a constant smooth line on larger obejcts (bumbers, rims) as it dries really quick and has a tendency of running.

I used this stuff on my mirrors and it matches the black perfectly. Cleaned really good and a few carwashes later and you would think it was factory. I recommend. No sure on the wheels, I would choose powdercoat if your wallet allows.

I am looking to do the front chrome strips, but that is going to take a little more prep.

I'm wondering about doing my nerf bars and plastic bumper caps because they are fading pretty bad.

people seem to have good luck painting over chrome with no prep work beyond cleaning. i say give it a try, you can always peel it off. biggest thing is to get solid edges that are fully adhered to avoid peeling

How well does platidip hold up to rubbing? Like on a door handle, or bugs and rocks hitting a front bumper?
