Default looking to buy a used 2006 - a few questions - fuel injection/power train module

I'm looking to buy a used 2006 Tundra. I have found one with 36k miles, that looks like new. The carfax shows all regular service at a dealer. It shows "Engine/powertrain computer/module checked" about 6 months after purchase.

It also lists a fuel injection system flush service at 12k miles (2008 - 2 years after purchase) and 25k miles (2010).

Is there anything to worry about with these or is this typical stuff?

I'm going to get it checked out by a local tech - it is several hundred miles from me. Is there anything in particular I should tell the tech to look at for a 2006 Tundra?

I wouldn't sweat that stuff at all. The "checked" pcm could have been anything. As long as it's not throwing codes now, I would assume this was a warranty issue that the dealer dealt with a long time ago. As for the fuel injection flush, it would appear that the dealer sold the prior owner some snake oil, with promises of 30mpg and gobs more power. Happens every day. Check on the timing belt. Although the mileage is low, Toyota recommends a time interval on that as well. I think it's 72 months or 90K. If it was done at the dealer, it should have a sticker on the intake cover or one of the timing covers. If it hasn't been done, use this as a haggling tool. It's not an emergency, that would require you to rush right out and get it done, but it is time for it. As long as it's not rusty underneath, a maintained 06 Tundra with 36K should serve you for very many trouble free miles. Good luck.
Your actions speak so loudly, I can't hear what you're saying.

The owner is an old guy, so it sounds like he was taken advantage of, but sounds like this does not imply anything wrong with the truck.

how much does the guy want? it is a solid truck. don't beat the guy up too much, you'll come out on top regardless.

A few things I have found on my 05 VS my 01......

the 05 has a computer that takes over driving when wheels slip.

the MPG increase is slight but the increased power is markable.

    the center console is nice.

the front end is weak, if one is planning on using 4low plan on breaking the stock front diff.

    Enjoy

Go for it. I just bought an 06 double cab with less than 14K miles. Same kind of thing. Old guy owed it. Records show all services (he only drove it less than 3K miles/year). The truck looks like new and drives great. This is my first pick-up truck purchase and so far I'm extremely pleased.

Absolutely. My '05 was owned by an old guy that had the dealer do everything. All the maintenance records were in the Toyota database.

It has been a very good, trouble free truck.
