04 access cab fog light mod - help

okay everyone, need some help. i have a 2004 tundra access cab trd 4.7 . im looking to do the fog light mod. i have been looking everywhere are here and no luck so far. im slightly new to the tundra world so 1 one of my questions is does the DC have a fog light button then mine have the twist knob on the headlight arm ? i have heard different thing light changing the power to the relay, jumping the fog light fuse to another to change the power source from that . i removed the bottom of the fuse box last night and u can hardly see up there .. any other suggestions ?

To partly answer your question, the AC doesn't require a relay to do the mod, and the switch is a twist on the lamp stalk.
I have some pictures as well as my crappy write up that I'm trying to attach.

nevermind i got it. was super easy. at first the wire i snipped i used the end coming into the plug. but u need to use the wire coming off the plug. other than that it was a breeze. thanks guys

Fog Light Modification:
Joewildlife originally posted these instructions in 2006. I mostly added my own observations on them. I assume any figures I refer to were from his original post?

Remove 3 Philips head screws holding dash trim piece under steering wheel. It’s necessary to turn the steering wheel each way to remove 2 of them. Use taped flat blade screwdriver to separate from top trim if necessary. To view connector locations (See figure 1).

Find large white connector going to stalk controlling lights. Remove the connector to access and peel back black tape on wires if necessary. Find red wire with yellow stripe. (See figure 2). This wire from truck end is hot only when low beams are on. Verify with meter with connector reinserted. Cut wire leaving room to splice. Tape off truck end. Strip off insulation on other end by white connector.

Run 12v to red/yellow wire going to white connector after reinserting connector. Fog lights should go on if fog light switch is on. You can use cigarette lighter for 12v source if desired. (I skipped that step)

If it works, go on. Find 12v switched power to connect to red/yellow wire going to white connector. Look to right at large black connector to windshield wiper stalk. Unplug black connector, Verify power to blue/gray spotted wire, (See figure 3) when ignition is on. Solder short wire to it and run to the red/yellow wire at white connector (see figure 4).

Fog lights should work anytime ignition is on and fog light switch is on.

I especially like being able to have fogs on with high beams.

I forgot to reinsert a connector and my cruise control didn’t work til I reinserted it. It was kind of hidden.

Thanks to tempetom for the write up and the pictures. I just did this now and it was super easy.

Cut the yellow/red wire from the white harness out of the turn signal stalk.

Splice a wire from the harness end to the gray spotted blue wire, tape/solder/connect/plastidip and DONE! Now I have my foglights on anytime I want when the key is on.

Good luck. Let us know how it goes. When I did mine, I forgot to reconnect a hidden connector and my cruise went out for awhile. I had thought it was simply an extra connector for some use that I didn't need.

Will use your pics to help, got stuck changing my rear sway bar on my Mazda this evening, will do this tomorrow(I swear)after work. Will be traveling alot in the next few weeks and this will be very helpful on some country state roads(deer, fog, etc.)
