    Default Stock Air intake

I want to be able to modify my stock air intake of be as loud as possible. I love the sound of my CAI intake, but i am fearing its harming performance. How would i make my stock intake louder?

    Thanks, Justin

You can't really get it to sound like a K&N(or similar) but if you want more sound you can cut a hole in the front of the box. This will suck in air easier at highway speeds and will make a little more sound but wont be loud. You could get that Airaid kit that replaces the tube, the tube is really what muffles the stock intake. The box that has all of the ports for the vacuum tubes absorbs the sounds to silence it. An aftermarket filter might make more noise too, I know the K&N stock replacement filter does make a funny whistle and whoosh sound but I don't recommend it because it doesn't filter very well compared to other options.

This feels like a fake thread... maybe... maybe not.

I noticed a little more sound just by adding an AFE drop in. I later swapped in a True Flow tube (similar to the Airaid mentioned above) and didn't notice much difference.

Install a small shop-vac under your hood and have it set to turn on when you press the accelerator pedal. That'll get you the sucking/wheezing noise you're looking for. Home Depot. About $40.
