    Default Magnaflow 18" muffler

hey guys, quick noob question here, and yes i already did a search that did not answer my question! My question is can i just get the magna flow 18" muffler and replace my stock muffler while keeping my stock pipes and tip? Will the new muffler alone make my truck louder or do i need to get the whole new $600 cat back pipes and converter kit for it to work? on a side note how much louder is the 18" than the 22"?

    Thanks!
    Russ

You couldn't have searched very hard... Do YOU think replacing a muffler requires replacement of the entire exhaust system?

you will have to measure your muffler on the truck then find the overall length of the muffler you want to put on. the oval mufflers arent that much louder than stock. i went with an 18" magnaflow magnapack and it went right in place of the stock muffler no additional pipe needed. i love it. its deep and throaty sounding, and at cruising speed its it super quiet. plain and simple I LOVE IT.

Anyone got a link to an 18" online? I found the 14" on Amazon, but don't see the 18" anywhere.

i have the 18" magnaflow muffler. check my sig line for part number. It as a little louder at first, but after it was broke in, it sounds nice now. quiet at idle, but when i rev it, or am on the gas driving you can hear it. nothing obnoxious. and you do not need to replace the whole tubing. the shop i had mine done at just added a little piece of tubing to make up for the difference in length between the huge factory muffler and the magnaflow.

Just for reference there is a difference between the 18" magnaflow and the magnapack. The magnapack is smaller and different. My magnaflow was fairly quiet yet noticeable on my stock pipes but then i got duals and it made it a little louder

Ah...I assume the Magnapack is Magnaflow's version on the Glasspack. Seems there are several different 18" part numbers people are using.
