I dont know, Derek....
First I'll comment on huntarks expectation...I'd be surprised if you get 2.5" on the first notch....3rd, maybe....2nd, possibly....
As to Derek's reasoning, the 884s are only 0.20" shorter. I doubt that 0.20" of unsprung length is gonna give that much difference in lift....UNLESS, maybe the spring rate is also very different, meaning once loaded, the 884s may compress a lot more, giving a bigger difference in final lift.
BUT, there again, Remmy stated on the 1st page of this thread, the specs for both 884 &885s...They were the same specs I came across doing research....
The advertised rates are the SAME for the 884 & 885....Meaning they should (relatively) compress about the same amount....And with 5100s set on the same notch using either spring, I wouldnt be surprised if there is only at most an inch difference in compressed lift, due to that 0.20" difference in length.
OME884 390mm (15.35"), 590lbs/in
OME885 395mm (15.55"), 590lbs/in
With my 5100/885s on 2nd notch, I have 2 3/4" lift....But the tail of the truck is on a slight incline, and not leveled yet...I expect it'll end up at 2", maybe 2 1/4" once its leveled....We'll see...
But then again, this is all anecdotal and theoretical speculation, since there are so many factors and variables involved, as evidenced by so many different people getting so many different results with the same sets of OME/5100's...(And I may also just be full of
cr@p...LOL)....So I guess we'll have to see what huntark ends up with...
Just for grins, I'm guessing he'll get 1"-1.5"...
