Sorry for the wait, its been raining like crazy for the past few days! Ok, I measured and from the bottom of my fender to the middle of my hub I got 23-23.5 inches. Not sure what stock is, but it looks like I'm sitting level (with 1.5 lift in the rear). This is 5100's on the 2nd notch with 885 coils. From my experience I'm probably sitting around 2.5" of lift.

That is the same amount of lift I measured, 23.5 from center of hub to fender. I do have the large flares so I'm not sure how much that changes. This is with 5100's on bottom notch and 886 coils. From this info I would guess the difference in lift from the 885 to 886 is equal to the spacing of the notches on the 5100's, whatever that is ? I have no rubbing issues now but I did with my spacer lift.
The first part is a quote from derek, I'm not sure why it doesn't look that way ? Sorry for any confusion.

Derek, thanks a bunch man! IMO youve got the perfect stance goin- And now I'm extra stoked cause you just confirmed that I chose exactly the right gear in the 885's.. along with Camburgs and my existing 5100s. It's all on its way now I just gotta decide if I'm gonna go first or second notch.. and If I m going 2nd notch like you, then Im gonna quick throw in an order for an add a leaf or new 3 leaf pack so I come out level ( like i said Ive got samller 1.25" blocks in right now- plus I'm pretty sure theyre givin me some added/unwanted axle wrap). Are you you using the 3 leaf progressive from Wheelers did you say?

I'd say got with the second notch, why not you see what it is going to look like. The difference between 1st and 2nd notch is .75 inches of lift. Yeah I'm using the wheelers 3 leaf pack. Recommend that as well. Also I have the TRD flares so not sure if that makes a difference in measurements.

Well, I was gonna wait till I had everything in to post measurements, but....
With one 5100 in, and granted, 3 tires flat, I have 22 1/4" stock on one side, and with the 5100 on 2nd notch with the 885s, I have 24 3/4".
My '00 has the same flares as Derek, (and is even the same color).
Per the paperwork that came with the 5100's, the bottom notch on 5100's is stock (0" lift), 2nd is .65" lift, 3rd is 1.3", 4th is 2.0", 5th is 2.5", all noted as AVERAGE lift.
That would mean I got about 1.75" out of the 885s alone, and 2.5" total.
Thanks again for keepin me updated and gettin back to me on this brotha. . but yeah, I've got the same TRD flares as you, the exact same Truck except its an 04 with the SR5 full painted bumper, same 265/75/16 size rubber.. Here's a pic of my truck in May right when i installed my TRD springs on 5100s on the 4th notch and with the 1.25 blocks. It was great, just a tad taller in the rear till all the sag and lean started. I think I ll go with the 2nd notch with the 885s like youre sayin, and should be pretty level like you if I do a 1.5" pack. And that way if we wind up getting any settling in the 885s I won't be aggravated wishing I had gone 2nd notch. You said you removed your overload leaf when you added the wheelers 3 pack right? I may leave it in to give myself a little 1/4 - 1/2 inch rake anyway for loads. On a last thought, could you do me one more favor and when you get another chance measure the bottom of your REAR fender to middle of your Rear hub and let me know what youre at man?.. just curious how high youre sitting back there / how much effective lift you actually got from the WHeelers 3 pack with your overload gone. again, thanks for all your help!

Stone, yeah idk if thats an accurate representation at all... 22 1/4" is far from stock height... my TRD access cab is sitting at 23 1/4 fender to hub in the REAR, and thats WITH a 1.25" block. Front stock height fender to hub is more like 20.5" as stated in the very beginning of this thread. And to boot, if you actually were to end up being at 24 3/4 up front, that is over an inch more than what Derek is sitting at on the same setup...

Weird....cuz the shocks and coils I have in are most definately the original, stock units. Also, I had NO issues with having to push down on the LCAs to get the tension off the shock bolts. I remember I did on my 99 Taco. The ONLY mods this truck has ever had done are a step up from 245/65's to 265/75's.
I'll fill all 4 tires and remeasure tomorrow...I hope to be able to pull the LCA with no issues, and hopefully have total success with the sawzall. Still gotta place my order for the shock bolts tonite or tomorrow AM, though...Will probably be at least another week or more before its all in and done.I will use another cold chisel as a "temporary" bolt, so I can keep her on all 4, and get the steering column and rack in.
I hope I have no issues putting in the rear blocks. Also, I'm a little worried now. They're only 1" blocks. Hope its enough....![]()
Derek can't give an accurate measurement of his lift because he's been away from stock height for a long while. He went from 5100s on stock springs, to Icon's, back to 5100s on OME springs. Having the rear lifted does change things too, it will shift weight to the front causing a variance in achieved lift. Add his bumper in and it's hard to use his numbers to reference what another Tundra would realistically gain from using the same springs on 5100s. Lots of variables to consider when measuring achieved lift.
True Tundrunk, my truck has been abused with lifts, but you forgot I had a 3 inch spacer before my 5100s a long time ago! I'll get your measurements for the rear tomorrow if its not raining localsnap88. When you first put the lift on and drop the truck back on the ground it sits high until you start driving and it settles down. Might be the reason stone blue has so much lift. Not sure how much my light bar and lights weight or make a difference in height but it might.
Funny story is when I was installing all this the other day, I forgot to tell the guys installing the 885s to drop down the snap ring on the 5100s. The 5100s were set on the 4th notch from last time I used them. When I got home and installed one side my truck was sitting really high, my UCA was very close to the coils and my CV boots looked like they were about to rip! Had to pull them back out and bring them back and installed where they are now. So lesson here is the 4th will not work lol!

Thats true Drunk, but in my case Derek and I have a very similar/almost the same exact platform. same model truck, 5100s, Camburgs... I just have about .25" less lift in the rear than him right now, and no brushguard-so I guess that could add up to 100 give or take pounds up front. I do have to factor those two things in when comparing myself to him, but he can still get an accurate measurement of HIS lift height over stock height by checking the fender to hub numbers...

Ok it looks like I'm sitting level as my rear measures 23-23.5 from bottom of flare to middle of hub. I may as well put my overload leaf back in in there for future loads, we will see. Still looking into Chevy 63" springs for the rear. Hope this helps.

ay Derek, question... did you absolutelyyy neeed the T.C. Ball Joint removal kit in order to remove the upper balls from the spindle, and to get the new joint slug/ parts seated? reason i'm asking is because I ordered the kit from KLM performance and in the mean time all the rest of my suspension parts have arrived (camburgs, 885s, isolators, lower bjs, tie rod ends) .. Now just yesterday I found out KLM was out of stock on the Total Chaos removal kit so they canceled my order... Wheelers DOES have it in stock but if I order it from them tonight (thursday) I probably wont get it for a week... the guy i spoke to at wheelers mentioned I cound probably/ he has used big sockets in place of the metal caps in the kit in order to get the balljoints "popped". do you think this would be too much of a hassle - aka you think me and my certified mechanic friend would be able to get the job done without the kits , just finding the right diameter sockets to do the job? and especially pressing in the new spindle slug adapter? thanks for your input man
