Does anyone know where I could get some white mirror caps for a good price? Like of the limited's, I can't find them anywhere.

I want a more permanent finish than plasti dip I think (but that is an option) and I want a glossy white finish that matches the truck pretty well. How do you paint the chrome and make it stick good?

The mirror caps are just plastic so you should be able to sand and paint them. Actual chrome is much, much more difficult to do it well
Plasti dip has held up pretty well for me. I did my mirror caps over a year ago and they've held up fine. My front bumper got a few chips after a 200 mile drive on the highway after about 6 months but I'd say it's semi-permanent

All you want to do is rough up the surface a bit, something like 400 should be fine. I usually just eyeball which one to use so don't quote me on that.
The goal is to take away the shine of the chrome without leaving visible scratches. It should be smooth to the touch before you paint. And make sure to wipe off the dust with a wet rag before spraying (and mask off well)
NOTE: if you're using plastidip, you do not need to and should not sand the chrome

Thanks for the help buddy. Never really painted much so I'm kinda nervous and new to it. I think I'll plasti dip em when I get a chance and see if I like them and if I like them white I'll go back and scuff and paint them

How do you get the mirror caps off? I know they are just clipped in but how do you pop them off? And what have you heard was hard about it? Zapco made it sound easy but I've never tried it so I don't know? Just wondering, sorry for all the questions just trying to figure the best and easiest way to do them.

And personally i would not use plastidip if you off-road. I use plastidip on my grill and all my emblems and they have gotten really scratched up from flying rocks and scraping tree limbs.
