The best 10 bucks I've spent in a long time

We just put 1200 miles round trip south of the border. Surf was fun, weather went from 37 at night to 80 in the daze. I brought my own Castrol EDGE 5w-30 and Napa Gold filter with me as i was going on 8k since the last change with the same stuff and it's been 15 months now. The local guy with the bloody knuckles was astounded to see my "sintetico" and couldn't believe me when I said I got all for $50 or so at Walmart. He was even more impressed with my lifetime AFE oil filter. after blowing out the air filter and lubing the driveline with "whatever" he showed me that my skid plate was being held in place by the 3 front bolts. Apparently, the back 2 have stripped holes and the bolts are long gone. A little steel wire and a few minutes later he checked my dipstick for the right mark and I was rolling down another dusty road. On the way home we stopped to help a van load of local boys who were heading to a baseball game change their flat. They didn't have the right lug wrench so I broke out my deep well's. Another mark in the plus side of the Karma ledger.....

sweet, gotta love baja. Southern 7 sisters area?...that point looks familiar. BTW, good karma goes a long way in baja...ive been on the other end a couple times. More pics. Was that yellow caught off the point, or did you panga it out?

We fished at Asuncion on a panga. Those points all look alike when they're lined up, eh?

To make this 100% Tundra related, after the 7 qts went in the oil pressure guage was almost to the top, especially in the morning. After about 150 miles it will now idle between zero and 1/4 like it used to, instead of around 1/2 right after while warm. I was wondering why the initial hi pressure? I never noticed that before.

GOOD stuff! I miss baja and the people who live a much more simple life. I used to stay in San Felipe often, my uncle has some land right by the arches. I often think of taking my Tundra out there, but I don't know if I'd ever come back. So jealous!

I love how he's got the fridge and barbeque right next to the lift.

Thats a nice yellow tail I've caught yellow tail before but never any of that size. Mine just fit on a sandwich.

i think they are different fish. in Mex they are called jurel. they get 50-60 pounds occassionally.
