    Default 5100's with Spacers?

I'd like to level off the front of my '04 2WD Tundra and it was recommended that I use the adjustable 5100's in combination with spacers. For example, set 5100's to 1" height and get 1" spacers. Does anyone have this setup? How is the ride? Since I have a 2WD, I shouldn't have to do any other suspension mods should I?

Think about what your saying . Bilstien 5100 set for 1" of lift stacked with a 1" spacer to equal 2" of total lift? That is pointless. The bilstien 5100 will provide the two inches without the spacers , and will spare the extra strain on your suspention. Most people get the 5100 to ditch the spacers. So dont listen to the genius who told you to use both.

The 5100s provide 0-2.5 inches if lift, so a spacer is not necessary. I set mine on the 4th notch and my 01 is level.

I have 5100s on my drop bracket spindle/spacer lift they are only on the second notch to help keep my tires from rubbing. But what was originally posted makes no sense

Think I'll leave mine as is considering it is a 2WD. I'll eventually get a 4WD and do it right with a complete suspension lift kit. This is what I envision:

That 4.5" lift kit is the ugliest, scariest damn lift idea I've ever seen. A spindle extension? Seriously?

Yeah...I look at that kit, and it just seems a bad idea in more ways than one, least of which is the UBJ "extensions"....I couldnt imagine running any kind of two-piece "extended" spindle...If yer gonna mess with spindles, I couldnt see anything less than a one-piece cast or forged aftermarket design, that is beefier, or gusseted, over stock dimensions.
If anyone is gonna spend that kinda coin on a "sub-frame" lift like that, I would think they would be better served just doing an SAS....But then I'm biased: the majority of my Toyota history is from dealing with old-school leaf-sprung, solid axle trucks.

I didn't mean that exact lift kit, I was referring to the picture of that black Tundra. I would love to have that truck. What kind of lift kit is recommended then? I'd be willing to spend a couple grand on it.

If I was spending a couple grand on suspension for a 1-Gen, I would run a pair of Fox or King 2.5" resi coilovers cranked to 2.5" of lift + Camburg uniball UCAs + Mastercraft limit straps w/ clevis mounts installed for the front. Out back, I'd have the Wheeler's 3-leaf AAL (w/ OL leaf retained; I think the OEM leaf packs are fine -- after a little help) + valve-matched Fox or King rear shocks.

Any $$$ left over I would invest in brake upgrades.
