1Gen-TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2000 to 2006 Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "100k Club Thread - Post If You're A Member!", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I've had at least 13 repairs since purchasing my tundra, I love the way it rides and drives but my brakes continue to pulse after 4 sets of rotors. My exaust manifold has now cracked and blows my O2 sensors. $ 1200 + to fix. I wish that I had waited until the bugs where worked out but I was so excited that Toyota was getting into the big truck market since I'm a high milage driver. Oh well
Traded in my 96 Taco with about 150k to get my DC, which now has 7500. The DC's getting a Donahoe lift on Tuesday. That should make it happy enough to squeeze out another 200k or so.
well after having the joy of having my tundra for 4 years i finally made it past 100k on my tundra. I had 5 miles on her since i got her new and she has been babied with oil changes every 3k since. i plan on keeping her another 100k or until i see a ground up redesign on the Tundra...She is getting a new timing belt (and tensions) and water pump to make sure i receive another 100k on this v8 engine. kept it up toyota iforcev8 is one good engine ....
182,000 miles. if all goes well - by the end of next week I should have about 185,000. Travelling with a trailer from south florida to indianapolis, cincinnati, gatlinburg, atlanta, orlando, and probably asheville, nc. I am supposed to 'swing by' El Paso, but that's kind of out of the way. for this trip

102,000 miles. I'll PO'd if I don't get 300,000. Y2K Access cab limited. So far I have replaced the sparkplugs, timing belt, and coolant once. This was at 90,000 miles. Transmisson fluid is changed every 20-25,000 miles and oil/filter every 8-10000 miles. New brake pads at 60,000 miles and getting ready to replace the brake pads and rotors shortly. Without a doubt the best truck ever.
2001 LTD 4x4, 160k, avg commute 75 to 90 miles per hour. Hardly any repairs, 02 sensors and one manifold. Other than that oil changes and brakes no major problems. Within the last 6 mo. I am averaging 6-8k a month. Yikes. My ol' Toyota std 2x4 pu had 394k on it before I sold it. Now most of you wont believe this, but I only changed the oil 6 times over the life of the truck. I was young and dumb. Who says every 3k is necessary!!!!! I wrote toyota and told them this, and they put me in their club and gave me a coffee mug with a "wow" letter.
When I gave the truck to a buddy the first thing he did was change the oil. He forgot to take the gasket of the engine from the filter as it was fused to the metal, thus double gasket'd, the oil filter when he put a new one on and blew the oil filter and killed the engine. I cried. As far as my Tundra, I change 3-5k. I am holding out for the new re-design, figure I'll be busting 350k-400k!!!!
111,000 and going strong. Just completed a 6200 mile trip from florida to utah and back home through Iowa while towing a 21' enclosed vnose trailer. Gross combined weight of 12,800# and averaged 11.3 mpg at 70mph!
Truck has been excellent! Toyota replace the front spindles/bearings/rotors/calipers at 66k, out of warranty. That solved my brake issues. I've replaced all O2 sensors once, and did the timing belt and new michelins/bilsteins at 90k to get her ready for my almost 16 yr old.
I think my leaf springs are shot, she bottoms way too much, but otherwise...awesome. I'm looking at big 3 diesels now to get me through til Toyo comes out with an HD truck.
Replaced the timing belt at 100K and one set of plugs at 6ok. Set of tires at 55k, along with all the usual oil changes. She still feels like a new truck.
I have 142,768 miles on mine and I'm going to have the timing belt, water pump replaced next week for the first time...There's a small tick so going to have the valves adjusted...
Mine has some ticks, please let us know if the tick goes away with the valve adjustment. I have not even checked mine - I assume these are shim/bucket design? hopefully shim over bucket so the cams don't have to come out to adjust.
