Your original tranny only made it 72K? Thats unfortunate, but Im not sure Id count that as hitting 100K. REally only 28K on the tranny. Oh well, I hope mine makes it 100K. I guess 99% do.
I sold my 2000 tundra with 177,000 on the odometer. But I ran taller tires (33x12.5x16.5) so I figure it was closer to 195,000. I may never get to find out how long a good tundra transmission lasts. I was sure for the longest time that my tranny was defective because it would slip some shifts, slam other shifts so hard the whole inside of the truck would go 'thunk'. but it just kept going. I had every intention of making it to the 250K mark until I found out about the new horsepower and transmission in the '05
My '05 I am going to try not to put so many miles on.

Well, I put 123,000 on my little bumperless 1996 regular cab Taco which prompted me to buy my new baby (2004 Tundra LTD DC). I'll post a new response to this thread in about 4 or 5 years...
2000 THUNDER GRAY - LIMITED 4X2-CLOTH BENCH SEAT-
96,000 First 2 years and the rest since then.
Low of 15mpg pulling a trailer >70 mph and
high of 19.8mpg at <60 mph
Still runs and drives great. still love her.
My next truck will be a VOLVO... and it will tow my TUNDRA... but that is another story.
HAPPY NEW YEARS.
177,000 miles early next week
Nothing major done to truck, just good routine maintenance.
I routinely put 800 to 1,000 miles a week on it and it just keeps on truckin'.
Expect to have 220+ by end of 2005; maybe I'll think about another Tundra around 300K.
2500k to go to join yall. May just take a peek at my timingbelt too to see if it'll last till spring when it's warmer to work on my truck.
are most people waiting till 110k when they do there timing belt?I just had mine done on dec and had the timing part idler 1 and 2 replaced in addition to the timing tensioners and water pump and cam seal's and crank seal. total cost is $288 on part's and $359 on labor....
I also suggestion www.anythingtoyota.com for the part's on the timing belt's there price of $288 for everything timing related on the v8 engine was close to wolesale (ask for bill)
