I, Scott Hayne, of sound mind and soul,do hereby declare that other than the front wheels (both) falling off my vehicle, declare my 2002 Tundra having 274,231 miles on the odometer, as the most durable vehicle in the world. Thase dang front wheels though....I really need them to stay connected.

This really isn't a big deal. This makes the driver have to steer the vehicle harder. I would much rather have this than having my truck catch on fire(Ford ) or having the brakes fail (GM ) besides Toyotas quality is still the best.

I didn't know the tires fell off, anyway its better than having your truck burn into flames.
No problemooo.
I didn't know Fords where bursting into flames.
If your truck caught on fire, chances are you could get out and away and collect on the insurance...if insured.
If your wheel falls off at 70MPH, especially the front, you might roll
and you could get hurt, killed and/or take out other people.
But it's O.K. to disagree.

it's better than a GM truck that burn's down too the ground ask 2theedge about his experience with his new 4 door gmc sierra that burned to the ground. I wouldnt buy A GM truck knowing american's product's arnt worth there weight in Gold...

Damn! I wouldn't mind having ANYTHING that was worth 6,000lbs of GOLD!
Anyway - just glad I have an '01 after reading all this...
But It looks like I have to have my shocks either rebuilt or replaced now - they're starting to leak out the top. Bummer.

I just called Toyota and they said that my truck is under no recalls or TSB's or anything... I was calling for a different reason, but that supriesed me. mines an 03 2wd TRD

You can see all issued TSB's and Campaigns by going to the TSB Database

i wonder if this could help eat your tires up...i have a 04 tundra and only 19,000 miles and my tires are needing to be replace...they are almost bald and they are rotated on time so i can;t figurethis one. the line and balence are ok

They use cheap tires. Most people get low mileage from the original tires.
I have 8000 miles on my '04, and they show alot of wear already.
I checked the TSB and my truck is in the group. I'll be sure to print out a copy of DJ's alignment specs when I go for the recall seeing that an alignment is part of it.
As far as tire wear, if the fronts are wearing uneven it likely is an alignment issue that may be a ball joint issue. If the tires are wearing out evenly and you keep them maintained correctly (rotation & inflation) you just are one of the lucky owners of the crap tires that Toyota puts on as original equipment.
I squeezed 35K from the original Dunlop’s and 45K from Bridgestone HT's that came with a wheel deal. I just put on Firestone Destination LE's that look identical to the Bridgestone equivalent except for the name on the side. Great rain & dry ratings in Tirerack and I agree. They have a 60K rating but that remains to be seen. The price is right if you shop around a little. Firestone is trying to loose the bad name that "500" and Ford gave them.
