Default Tundra headers question

These headers are always on ebay, claim to be made 100% of same material as TRD headers and fit all years Tundras. First of all, aren't the 00-01 different from 02 and up? Mine is an 05. Is that different from 04? Also, from previous life experience, I've learned that you usually get what you pay for, so I am sceptical about these headers, but I can't figure out why these would suck. Exhaust isn't that complicated a principle and if they fit and are made of good material, how could they be bad? Anyone know why these would be worse quality than JBA or TRD headers? Anyone actually have these headers?

The coating on them comes off in no time. They made good power, but the weld quality on them is not very good. One thing to watch out for is if they are legal in your state, they are illegal in CA. I went in for a smog check, and i ended up spending a hours taking them off and putting them back on after the smog check.

Default this is what they will look like in a few months of use.

I wonder if driving on the beach had anything to do with the headers looking like that after a few months of use.(less than 5k miles)

if the weld quality is poor, will they eventually come apart? What kind of coating do they have? I assumed that they were just polished stainless steel.

they wont come apart, but the welds are very slopy. Tig welding is not a easy process, and it looks like he rushed through the welds. Also the collector is crap! I would recomed spending a little bit more money and getting something better.

Here is some header 101:
http://www.ssheaders.com/header.htm

that link should help you understand the basics of headers.
