Default Disconnecting DRL?

I want to disconnect my DRL in my 04 DC that I just bought. I want to disconnect them b/c (1) I want to replace the bulbs for bighter high beams and I've read problems with DRL and replacemnt bulbs (2) I just don't like DRL.

The dealer say it is just a mobule that can be unpluged...but THEY couldn't do it, nor would they tell me how to.

Thanks,
Brian

You unplug the Daytime Running Light Resistor. See Tundra Daytime Running Lights

Default Help...problems!

OK. I disconnected the Daytime Running Light Resistor. The lights don't come on...that's good, but the engine starts and then dies. I didn't think there was any way those two things were connected. I looked at everything and could start the engine, but it kept dying.

So I plugged the Daytime Running Light Resistor back in...car starts and stays running. I pulled out the plug on the Daytime Running Light Resistor while the engine was running, engine died!

HELP!

Doesn't make sense to me. Are you sure all you are doing is unplugging the resistor?

Default Frustrated

Yes, I reviewed the pdf files over and over. It is the resistor I unplugged. There is also a relay and a fuse. I was going to pull those and see what happens but I was waiting to get some input from the group first.

It didn't make sense to me either. I went back out and tried it again...with engine running, DRL on, unplug the resistor->lights go out, engine dies.
