dd+play. heaviest load was probably around 800-1000#, and i was playing hard at the time...that was ~25g h20, 56g gasoline (includes full tank), 350# of humans, camping gear, tools, recovery gear, food, 33" spare, three skid plates, canvas topper, 5'x1.5' sand ladders and some random stuff from the overloaded jeep that was traveling with us and needed to split the gear offroad. i do have a set of +500# replacement leaves from alcan, and they performed wonderfully. they'll build to whatever specs you give them, and based on my truck's performance on the highway and offroad with all that stuff in the bed i'd say it can haul fine, just needs sturdier leaves.

Arrow New record weight hauled

I hauled my heaviest load yesterday.
The freight bill read 2425 pounds and it all fit in the bed.

My compressed bump stop drive back to my garage was less than 3/4 of a mile.

The fuel surcharge was 19.30%!

Yep, DYOGIM, new springs is prolly where I'm headed...Thanks for the tip.

I want my 1/2 ton truck to actually carry the 1000# without problems and handling issues. Maybe that's too much to ask?
To me it sounds like there is some sort of problem with your suspension. I put 800 pounds of top soil in bags right at the rear of my truck with no problems at all. And before some one mentions it, yes I am to lazy to spread it out all over the bed.
