1Gen-TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2000 to 2006 Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "bed bolts with spray in liner", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
The only thing I had to do was take the paint off the front tie down hooks. Not sure why the front hooks are painted and the rear hooks are not. Looked weird so a little paint remover did the job.
06 Tundra DC from Riverside, would you recommend them?
Thanks,
Lars
At our shop, when we reinstall the front tie downs, we use a little touch up paint on the inside of the little screws. It looks like they've never been removed.
Actually what I meant was that it comes from the factory with the front tie down hooks painted and the rear hooks unfinished. Before I had the liner sprayed I decided to take the paint off the front hooks so it matches the rears.

Absolutely. Like I said in my original post, I called several Line-X dealers and they all said they spray over the tie down hooks and bed bolts. In my opinion, it looks a lot cleaner when the dealer takes the time to take out all the bolts. This guy did a great job as you can see from the pics.
Regardless where you get it sprayed, you can print a coupon from HERE for $20 off.

Great. One more question, was it on Adams or near McKinley? Website states Adams and phone book lists it near McKinley.
i'd say get bolts off in future, 2 of mine have had the linex peel away around them and they were all rusted. But then again i put snowmobiles in my truck and line-x does not stand up well against them. Have chips around edge of tailgate and bed... probably going to try Rhino on my next truck instead.
LINE-X will not stick to rust. Take it back to your LINE-X dealer and he will repair it for free. Also, tell him you need it thicker in the areas especially abused by the snowmobile. If sprayed correctly, you should not have any problems with the bedliner.
I don't really know the answer to that. Yesterday, I emailed corporate and asked when Xtra was going to be advertised and when marketing materials would be available to the dealers. Perhaps their answer will help me answer your question. I'll chime in when I hear from them.
