Default SOS Lowering Kits

Anybody have experience with the lower kits offered by SOS? I'm thinking of using their rear lowering kit on my '02 Limited 4wd. Out of the box she's raked a little too much.

I recently installed the 1 1/2" rear shackle on my 05' D-Cab. It leveled it out nicely. Difference, front to rear, was 2 1/4" before, now down to the 3/4", just as advertised.

While it's only a 1 1/2" drop at the wheel, the end of the bed/tailgate, is down more like 3" to 4". A dramatic difference.

I don't know how much it affected handling (I already had the Hellwig on), but it certainly "feels" much lower and sits a bit tighter in the curves.

I didn't take any good "before" pics, but here's an "after" pic from the last Chili's meet in Houston. More pics in my suspension gallery.

Now, I just need to replace these crappy Bridgestones with some nice Falkens, then we'll see..............

I bought the complete kit (front and rear) from SOS and installed the rear shackles for the same reason you describe. I'm completely happy with it. Shackles are quality material and finish, easy to install (about an hour) and it gives me the slightly lowered, level stance I was looking for. I run 265/50/20 tires and will eventually go with 305/45/20's when the current tires wear out.

By the way, my truck is an '04 2WD DC Limited

I've been thinking of lowering my 2005 DC. How difficult is this to do with the SOS kit? Is there anything special that must be done with the Hellwig Antisway bar. I installed that bar a couple of weeks ago and I don't want to have to do too much more with that bar.

Thanks.

I've leveled out my '04 Dcab with the SOS lowering shackle. Very easy to install the only downside is if you ever do decide to actually load your truck, it will sag pretty low. Otherwise it looks much better

Hey,

Another alternative would be using the BELL TECH lowering shackles from Summit Racing. They're under $50.00 and will lower your truck approx 2" in the back....

Check out my pics for how they look on a '02....

Here's the HOW TO for more info on how it's done........ JB
