Why does my A/C comes on in windshield mode and how do I turn it off?

For non-members that can't access links, performed on '06 DC:

1. Pull three heater knobs, note and remove black screw from behind each one (three total).
2. Tilt tops of center face vents forward, note and remove screw at top of each opening (two total).
3. Gently pull bezel surrounding radio/heater controls/center vents towards you and let dangle (no need to disconnect any wiring). *Note, the actual heater controls stay in the dash, not out with the bezel and can stay in place to mod.
4. Locate micro switch on underside of right control (two black wires w/white connectors). Gently pry clips on both side of micro switch to slide switch about 1/2 way out. This is enough to pull one wire off the switch, disabling defrost A/C. Push micro switch back into clips and secure now loose wire out of harms way.
5. Reassemble in reverse.

Easy mod that makes a difference and can be easily reversed. Might affect warranty however if A/C problem develops (I'd be inclined to reverse the mod prior to dealer visit in that case). Did this to my '01 with no problems too, however mod at your own risk.
