give these guys a try, http://www.lextreme.com/forums/ they seem to know their stuff and also have a engine registry.

everybody knows the best supra motor is the 2jz-gte. i myself like the 7m-gte, its much cheaper to build. the 2jz-gt will cost about $3k to start. the 1jz-gt (2.5 llitre) might cost between $1.5-$2.5k. the 7m-gt can be had for as little as $300.00.

it really depends what bodystyle car/truck you have , how much power you want to make, and how deep your pockets are.

id stuff a 7m into a taco, but not a tundra. id put a 2jz into a tundra.
id use a 7m for the MKII and MKIII supra. id use a 1jz or 2jz for a MKIV supra or early lexus sc body style.

I had an 88 Supra turbo I modded up to around 300 rwhp a few years ago. But those turbos are an addiction and I wanted more and more.
It was an awesome car that would have landed me in jail if i had kept it. I miss it, but it was too easy to go scary fast. I still have a coule of friends with them. One is building a 7m that should put out around 500 rwhp and will be extremely dependable. Anyway, this is the site everyone goes to for all models of Supras....

thanks guys and yes I wanna put the 2JZ in my Tundra. I can get one in good condition with auto tranny, all wireing, ecu, rail, turbos, etc, for under 3 grand. then all Im thinking of doing is chaning the Pulley, rebuilding the Turbos and big intercooler. just trying to get about 400 HP outta stock internals

400 is easy on a 2JZ,under $3k for all those pieces is a steal!

Hey by the way,do you still talk to that guy who had the really really really tall Tundra? I used to have this one photo of yours and his parked next to each other...that was such a cool shot.

$3k is a steal for the whole kabootle. screw rebuilding the turbos. just gt new ones, less hastle. the stock bottom end is said to be good for over 600 hp. your goal of 400 hp should be no problem. id re-torque the head just the same.

let me know if you need anything from japan. i got a friend that works at a tuner shop. i might be able to find you a used Fcon proV, for cheap. http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n19747335 if you want new, my friend is also an HKS dealer. 15-20 lbs psi should wake up that motor. can probably hit that with the stock turbos. i say run the stockers till they break, then upgrade. and AIC would be a good investment too.

i hear ya, my supra helped get my drivers license suspended for several years. i added some minor bolt ons. nuthing dramatic, it was still a slug off the line, but the top end was phenominal back in the day 1988-95. onbly a handfull of stock cars could keep up.

trust TD-06, FCon, Apexi N1, TRD MA701, Yokohama 008rsII, Renncraft magneesium Racing wheels. no body kit. no ricer racing graphics or paint scheme, no blig bling. just mean and clean. i know i surprised a few Z28s, 5.0 stangs , and twin turbo Zs.

last car i raced was an 04 sti impreza, it was rice-rodded but i said what the hey. i lost bad.

disclaimer: i mean no disrespect when i use the term rice. im 1/2 asain so im only being have prejudice.

3K seems about the going rate for the 2JZ auto's. So your saying just keep the oem Turbos and boost them up to about 15 PSI? My roomate is an old Toyota tech and was saying those motors are virtually indestructable. I'll go right through it and probably change all gaskets, make sure all torque settings are right. Gotta pull it all anyways to paint and ceramic coat certain things.

i dont mean to sound stupid but what is an Fcon ProV?

ask you toyota friend what a HKS Fcon Pro V is. he should be able to tell you. for short, it is a very popular programable engine management system that piggybacks the factory ecu. you can control your fuel maps, ignition timing, etc. new, they are quite expensive well over $1k, but used, they are affordable a few hundred bucks. a used wire harness for the FconV usually cost about $100.00 by itself.

yep, use the stock turbos till they break. mines lasted 110k miles till the axel broke, then i upgraded to a Trust td-06 20g. once you drop the 2jz in your biggest problem will be "hookin up" anyway.

Default i stand alone

stand alone FM systems are good, but expensive. might as well have kids, then sell them for $$$ to buy the stand alone. how deep are your pockets? how far do you want to go with this project?

I say boost the Tundra engine

Looks like you have a ton of room in the engine bay with the new frame, twin turbos would look pretty nice in there. There's a guy I know who should be displaying his products @ SEMA,he can build a pair of sick turbo headers for the Tundra.

i second that. i bought a s/c for my tundy, check my gallery pics, but sold it before putting it on. id rather have a turbo, or maybe even a twin.. im waiting for my warranty to run out. meantime i have to sell two 7m supra motors, a td-06, and some ic pipes to make room for a tundra motor.

ill be collecting parts till then. ill be looking for a tundra motor. probably replace/upgrade the rods and pistons. ill have my friends in japan set up a stand alone engine management for me. im only looking to make around 12-20 lbs of boost.

You can contact Jarrette Humphries with Powerhouse racing !!!! He has already done a pro stock tundra with a 2jzgte.... By the way the stock short block is good for over 900 hp.... He specializes in conversions on the IS300, SC430, and of course heavily moded Supras.... his site is www.powerhouseracing.com ..... He has built several cars in the 9 second range.... as with most quality builders he is not cheap but probably the best in the country !!!!
