Yes. if it has no filter how come i can smell musty buildup like a dirty filter. it must be an non replaceable filter. not a good solution. :-(

I'm bummed that nobody has figured out a way to craft a filter for our 1st gen tundras. I FINALLY was able to get the leaves and crud out of my evaporator by removing the 2 Phillip screws that hold the resistor in place. To get to the top screw, you'll need to remove the glove box. By removing the resistor, you have access to the evaporator where all crud from the blower seems to end up. I was able to tape an 18" piece of garden hose to my shopvac hose. This garden hose portion fit easily into the hole where the resistor was mounted. Some of the crud was very moist and wedged under one of the evaporator pipes. I was able to dislodge it using a long piece of wire clothes hanger with a short "L" bent in it. Before I reinstalled the resistor, I sprayed the area pretty good with Lysol. I did note that there was corrosion beginning on the evap pipe but was reluctant to use any corrosion preventative compound, for fear that it would really stink up the circulating air. I am not satisfied that our trucks don't have cabin air filters and am still trying to figure out a way to put one somewhere prior to the blower.

Kerryman did do one. One with pics. Works well, better than what I initially planned.
