Cool K & N Air Filter question

Well,

I have heard all negative things about putting a K&N Air Filter onto the Tundra's, the 4.7 V8 of course.

has anybody installed a K&N with postive results?

I originally purchased a K&N filter, but it was backed ordered for quit some time. I was frustrated in waiting then saw a True Flow demonstration and that totally made my decision....so, I cancelled with K&N.

I'm absolutely satisfied on my intake and glad I didn't go with K&N.

I have a K&N drop-in..I mean it's nothing special.
You'll hear your intake a little more and you only have to clean it like every 15k....I got it as a gift so I can't complain.

I've had mine for a few months now and see no problems so far. I'm happy with it.

Some people mentioned that they lost low end torque with the K&N, so they went back to stock.

I heard the same thing. I took mine out and put the stock back in. I do notice a difference pulling the trailer.

The K&N drop in filter element is not a big deal. No real benefit except cleanable, and just might allow more dirt to pass through.

The K&N FIPK intake system is the one that actually reduces low end power and has a small boost in top end power. Look at K&N's dyno chart and see if the power gain comes at the rpms you actually run, and if the gain is worth the price to you.

I put a K&N drop in filter into my "05" Tundra and got a disappointing 2MPG reduction My previous vheicle a"02" PT Cruiser got a 3 to 5 MPG increase so I was very disappointed not to mention a wasted $50. Don't waste your money.

I had a K&N drop-in filter in the truck for about 5k miles and noticed the oil got dirtier than it did with an OEM paper filter so I switched back. My opinion-don't waste your money.
