Now, with the shell on, it still drops slightly, with any weight at all in the rear, it really sags. I wouldnt mind if the truck had a slight rake when it was empty, but it sat perfectly level before. Maybe the 2wd trucks have a slight rake to them, but mine sure didnt.

I hate to jump into this discussion, but I thought it kind of strange that a camper shell would make a Tundra sag in the back. Now that I hear that your back end wasn't rasised when new that set me off. My 05 AC 4x non TRD sits high in the back and an A.R.E. tonneau doesn't even make it go down at all. It also didn't sag when I filled the bed with crap and drove to NC and back this summer. IMHO there must be a spring problem probably from day 1. By the way, how much does the shell weigh?

First off, a tonneau isnt near as heavy as a shell. I'm guessing my shell is at least 200 pounds, maybe more. Plus another 20 or so for the Bedrug. Don't get me wrong, the truck isnt dragging its bumper, it just doesnt have the stance I want. Actually with the shell on, it sits just a hair under level (see the pic in my gallery, but its hard to tell). Put any weight in the back, and it definetely sags in the butt. I am obviously not the only one with this problem, the first guy that responded to this thread said the same thing. Like i said earlier, stepsides could possibly have lighter springs than standard beds, but unlikely. Either way, I want to raise the rear a bit, and the RAS looks pretty good at this point.

I think you'll find that to be an investment not an expense. Lot's of good info to be had by subscribers.

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to syphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????

I had the RAS on my 03' Tundra and took it off when I sold it an reinstalled it on my 05'. It lifted the rear 1/2" to 3/4" (not that noticable). When I hook my truck to my enclosed motorcycle trailer it hardly drops a bit (even if the bike is in the trailer). Not only is the product well made, the people at RAS are very helpful. I ordered it directly from the factory and they walked me through the change from one truck to another even sending me some new bolts which I @##$ up taking it off the 03'.

So what does the RAS do? How does it work, exactly? I'm just about to start the arbitration on my 03 stepside 4X4 for bottoming out with 300# in the bed. Toyota technical is blaming this on the TRD offroad package! What a crock.
