Default Best Sub for JL Stealthbox (Access Cab)

Found a used stealthbox on ebay for my '02 access cab. What 10 will sound the best? Will any 10 fit or doesn't have to be a certain kind? Also, any suggestions on door speakers (front and back) and an amp. This is my first time I am getting a system so I am a little ignorant on the subject.

Thank you

You came to the right place.
Sub? Why not just buy a JL sub and be done with it? Go to the website and see what comes loaded with the stealthbox and buy another one just like it. Or, look at the spec's and find a speaker with similar specs. If that is a little daunting, ask a certified dealer (not crutchfield). I'm sure they would be happy with setting up your system
I currently am running Boston Pro 6.5 components in the doors. They sound wonderful. The crossover has a -4 dB L-pad (jargon) for the tweeter which is neccessary or it will overpower you with high frequencies. (The 6.2 pro's with the Neo 1t tweeter sounded much better IMHO) There are DIY links in TS that will walk you through the door speaker install and R&R of the door panel and how to space the window tracks back for extra depth needed for the larger magnets on aftermarket speakers.
I am running a Boston G2-1044 sub in a sealed enclosure behind the passenger seat. I have a reg cab so space is at a premium. The gross internal volume is about .7 cu. ft.
Amps? Many of them on the market. I have a Rockford 50x2 (old school) running the sub at 1ohm, about 350 watts. Great old amp as long as you run it down to 1 ohm. For the mids/highs in the doors I'm running a Eclipse 2200 (60x2 @ 4 ohms) Nice amp also. Very clean and great adjustability.
Now, if you don't know what any of what I've said means, please do some homework and know what you want before you pull the trigger. I've heard so many ****ty sounding systems simply because they weren't planned properly and are "hacked" together by someone who cannot install anything to save his ***. Best Buy's and other big boxes are not your best bet. Ask around and look for a good shop that does good work and will spend the time with you so you get what you are looking for. Crutchfield etc. is not your best bet. Of course all of this is my opinion.

Well for a sub in the stealthbox, I do like the sound of the JL 10w3v2 dual 2 ohm sub that comes in them. I have heard better 10" subs though. You will want to check the mounting depth of the stealthbox to make sure your new sub will fit. Also check the internal volume of the stealthbox and make sure your new sub will work well with that gross volume.

If you do a search I'm sure you can find the internal volume of the stealthbox and its mounting depth. JL Audio might also be able to tell you if you email them or search their site.

As for what particular sub, you need to find one that you like the sound of. I personally really like the sound of the Boston Pro 10" subs. I also like the sound of the Eclipse Titanium 10" subs. Both of these are more geared toward sound quality but will still get loud. Keep in mind if you hear a sub at the store it is might sound different in the big room than it will in your car.

I had a Kicker 8" DVC in my last car. Nobody believed it was a single 8" until I opened the trunk and showed them

modify the box to fit a square and drop in a kicker L7... one 10" L7 sounds like 2 12"s
