1Gen-TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2000 to 2006 Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Dealer options", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Hi everyone. I am about to get a '06 DC limited in about a week or so and was wondering about one of the options the dealer is trying to sell me. It's called the Xzilon Molecular Adhesion package. It's basically a interior and exterior protectant. The exterior is supposedly sprayed with this product and it reduces frequency car washes, filter harmful ultraviolet rays, resists water spotting, industrial fallout, rust spots, acid rain, tree sap, oxidation and fading. For the interior, it protects against water and oil-based spills, makes fabric/leather last longer, etc.
My question is, is this just some dealer trying to sell me something I don't need or is this product legit? I remember purchasing an RX-7 a long time ago with the dealer throwing in something similar (at extra cost) and I never really noticed the difference by looking closely at the paint when I brought the car home. Do they actually spray this product on new vehicles or is this a hoax? Thanks for any help.
I have never heard of this. It sounds like something regional. I have heard of spraying 3M on the seats for fabric protection, but never anything for the outside. I always thought that was what wax and polish was for !!!!
I would save your money if I were you. When I worked for a dealer this was just a way to increase margins. Basically we just waxed the vehicles before they left. Just my 2cents.

Rip Off. Paint protection doesn't last that long and for $7 you can buy a can of Scotchguard and do a more thorough job on your upholstry than they do. I heard from someone all they do is spray the Scotchguard anyway.

If your limited has leather, forget this option. Go with Husky Liners for the floor and use a good quality leather conditioner for the seats. On the exterior,If you really want something that helps repel and release things like bugs and sap, etc., go with RejeX...
I use this on all the "leading edges" of my truck, and things slide right off with water. On all other surfaces I use more standard wax/polish type stuff.
i used a can of scotch guard and ended up with dirty sox syndrom dont get the water based scotch guard, or just get seat covers http//.www.gtcovers.com
