Question Tundra 2000 2WD Doublecab - disconnect alarm?

Hi everyone,
I purchased a 2000 Tundra off of ebay about 3 years back. It came with a remote keyless alarm that I didn't think twice about till now. My remote just died and I can't shut off my alarm. The problem is, I don't know for a fact if it is a factory alarm or 3rd party. A while back I took it to the "Specialists" who are supposed to know a thing or two about alarm systems but the guy couldn't figure out how to uninstall and he wasn't much help.

I've searched and searched for some sort of valet button to disarm it but no luck. I have an LED light that flashes red on the driver side front panel to the left of the steering column. It's not a remote start, but it does have a kill switch since I can't start it and the horn keeps going off. It also keeps auto locking the doors each time I close them.

I'm in a bit of a pickle since my alarm system is so effective even the owner can't drive it : >

Any suggestions on how to uninstall / disarm the alarm? I've googled and now know that I'm looking for an ECU? unit that I guess is the brains of my truck. Is it as simple as just unplugging a switch? Gosh, I hope so.

Thanks for any and all of your help

Default Remote fcc number is...

Wow, thanks for responding so quickly nhparrot!

The remote is very worn, but the number looks like FCC ID: L2MAL41T

Is this something I should google to find the model of alarm?
