I found out from Toyota that my 2002 Tundra does have keyless entry, but when I bought it this past april, they didn't give me a remote. I've been searching the internet & these forums trying to figure out what remote I need, and everything I read says the FCC ID on the remote needs to match the FCC ID on the ECU. Today, I pulled my ECU out to take a look at it and was unable to locate anything that resembled the FCC ID's I've seen while searching around. I even opened it up to see if there was a label somewhere inside, nothing. So my question is where exactly do I get that FCC ID? I called Toyota and they told me to call the dealer. I called the dealer and they said they could order one for me, but they wouldn't give me the number for the remote I need. Any ideas? Its a 2002 Access Cab 4x4 V8 SR5 w/ TRD off road package. I have a picture of the ECU, if it helps, I can email it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
"If" what you have is a Totoya keyless entry system, it should be a RS3000 VIP security system. And if that is what you have on the side on the ECU there should be a little green button to program new remotes. All RS3000 remotes are the same I believe and dont have FCC numbers on them. On my keyless entry ECU it does state the FCC #. But if you have no luck at it I have a complete RS3000 keyless entry system that is new in the box never used and it includes the wireharness for installing too. This kit is for the '00-'02 Tundras. The kits are no longer av. from Toyota any longer.

Is there any identification on the ecu at all? Where was the ecu located in the vehicle? Was it wired with an OEM harness?
I'm assuming it has keyless entry because when I called Toyota about the recall I asked them if they could check with the vin, the guy looked it up and said it did have keyless entry.
Its located behind the steering column, above a junction box that's wrapped with electrical tape. As far as identification, it has a label with numbers on it (see below & attached file).
It does have a green button on the side, I pressed for about 5 secs, released it, then pressed it for another 5 secs (didn't have any instructions, so I was just guessing), nothing happened.
Also, I ordered an RS3200 plus from toyotaparts4u (it was in the 2002 tundra accessories)... I'm hoping that comes with remotes, but if it doesn't I've gotta figure out what I need to get.
The stuff on the label in the picture is:
2NL1209A
01120580052 (I think)
ASSEMBLED IN USA
I had almost the same problem and is what brought me to this site in the first place. I lost one remote and the other was crushed by a forklift at work. I bought new remotes off ebay and couldn't get them to work until I found this site and got the instructions to reconnect the factory alarm. You should have this too by the looks of the ecu.
Search on this site for instructions on reconnecting the factory alarm. It's as simple as unplugging the ignition plug and connecting an inline plug from the ECU. A glass break sensor and a status light are the only other parts to it and you can get them from the dealer for less than $40.00. You don't need the 3200 system. It might not have the same connections as with a 2002 anyway.
You will need probably need to connect the factory alarm to program the remotes. I couldn't figure out how to do it any other way. The green button did nothing until I did.
My remote FCC# is BAB237131-022. You can find them on ebay.

^^ awsome, thanks man.
I've seen the posts about reconnecting the alarm, I was hoping some more detailed instructions would be included with the 3200. The system was marked down to $17.50 so I couldn't pass it up.
So I get this email yesterday from toyotaparts4u... sorry, that part has been discontinued and we are no longer offering it.... what the hell, I'm pissed now... I guess I'll have to order those two parts separate... fortunately I have a friend who also has an '02 tundra with a factory alarm, so I can just copy his wiring...
Do all the Tundra's with power locks have the keyless entry system?
I am curious because Ando140 has walked me thru where it is located and for my 3rd time I had the dash apart and I still can't find the ECU.
I am at a loss... So the only thing I can figure is my truck does not have an ECU.

No it won't be on the title or door tag on your truck. You have a bit of a quandary because you're located in what's called the SET (South East Region) and they usually install their own security systems that are not Toyota factory systems. I'm sure someone that lives in that region will pop in with some information to help you determine where the ECU is located if in fact you do have a security system.

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to siphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????
If your engine doesn't consume ANY oil it will seize???
