1Gen-TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2000 to 2006 Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Hey everyone, FNG here!", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I'm new here as I just got my '06 Tundra the other day and was referred by a Supra forums member. I'm interested in some iPod accessories since I'm getting my wife Nano for Christmas as well as myself and a few other things here and there. I did a lease so I don't plan to go too crazy as I sometimes do but a few things here and there will improve on an already great platform. So I just wanted to say hey and I plan to do LOTS of reading and searching so I'll see ya all around!

I have used the Transponder in my truck with aftermarket tuner and sub/amp it sounds ok. But you peak out with volume and depending on where you live its occasionally hard to find a station that doesn't have a lot of static. Good product though.
I am going to go with a direct connection later though.

Yeah, not a fan of the FM modulator units and was going with a hard-wire adapter that uses the changer port on the back of the deck. I want the ability to use the deck and steering wheel controls and having it charge while it's plugged in is also a bonus. My buddy has one of the FM modulator deals and it's a PITA because you have to plug in the lighter charger too and this day I needed to charge my phone so we had to do w/o the iPod since he only had one charger. Not to mention your forced to use the iPod to control it. With some of the changer cables you get the best of both worlds, you can use the steering wheel controls for convenience and can also use the iPod interface if needed.
