I just used the procedures described by SKNAUS and it worked perfectly...I no longer get the beeps for locking or unlocking. Now all four lock/unlock with one push of the button and no beeps.

Thanks sknaus and everyone else.

I got the beeping sound to shut off using sknaus's method. Sweet!
All four doors do not unlock at once though. Not a big deal for me though it would be nice.

So you guys know, I tried the same method on my wife's 04 Highlander and it did not work. Her beeping is even more annoying. It even honks the damn horn when you lock it! I am now searching for a way of 'fixing' hers.

Thanks again everyone!

nhparrot,
Could you elaborate more on the dealer's "handheld tester"?

Back when I owned BMW's (in my single days) BMW dealers had some device that they would plug into the engine's electronic brain to read and reset various engine functions. Knock-off devices were sold in the BMWCCA Roundel classifieds. I'm wondering if such a device can be had by us regular folks?

Diagnostic Tester made by SPX/OTC. I do not think you can purchase the Toyota Program Card with Software.

Default 06 AC can't be reprogramed

After checking with two dealers and a call to Calf. i was told the 06 AC can not be reprogramed. I was forced to resort to cutting the wire to the buzzer.

An AC uses the RS3200 system, so it can be programmed according to the instructions http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forum...s/jump/1663/36

Default Safety Consideration

Hey Guys,

A few years ago, before I was married, I was on a date with a girl. We left a little Italian restaraunt in downtown Corpus Christi and as we walked up to the truck this wierd acting guy appears. He's standing on the drivers side of the truck. I took the key and unlocked the passenger side and let my date in. I told her to get on the phone and be prepared to call 911. I did this loud enough so the wacko could hear. I walked around the back of the truck so that the drivers door was between me and wackjob. Well, as I suspected as I neared the door, he says something and moves toward me. I was prepared for this and grabbed the drivers door flinging it open and into his face. This put him off balance enough for me to get in and lock the door before he could recover.

So, why do I tell you all this. It made me think about how I want the doors to unlock on my truck. I want the 1 push for driver, 2 push for all four because if that guy had been on the passenger side then I could have 1 pushed the driver and let both me and my date in. If your girl or wife drives your truck, I recommend leaving the locks as they are.

Now, before anybody comments, I want to say that in the Corpus situation, I did everything wrong and put my date at incredible risk. Now that I've gone through handgun instruction, I realize I should have just went back in the restaraunt. Retreat retreat retreat until you can't retreat any more. Then be decisive and forceful. My 2 cents worth.

You can switch the beep on and off. (The
beep is on initially and after battery replacement.)
To switch the beep on and off:
With the driver’s door opened—
1. Insert the ignition key and remove it.
2. Within 5 seconds, insert the ignition
key again and turn it to the “ON” position.
3. After 10 seconds, push the same
“LOCK”, “UNLOCK” or “PANIC” switch
twice within 10 seconds.
Two beep sounds inform you that the
program has been switched on or off.
If this procedure is not followed exactly,
the beep will not operate as expected.
Check the beep ON/OFF operation by
pushing the transmitter switch after you
finish this procedure. If the beep does not
operate as expected, repeat this procedure
from step 1.

Can anyone confirm this working on an '05 AC? I have tried repeatedly and can't seem to get it to work. I would like to avoid opening the hood and unplugging the thingie...I will probably screw that up, too.

Well this is pretty sad as my first post, but I had a Tacoma for 4 years and never learned how to cut off that horrible beep. Now that I have a Tundra, its only taken me one week to get it done. Thanks, worked like a charm!
