I had an interesting experience the other day. Took my 05 DC into the dealer the other day for its 5000 mile checkup and oil change. When the dealer pulled up the spec sheet from the factory, it stated that the truck didn't come stock with air conditioning. I thought that this was a little weird because it definitely has air conditioning. He said that it was pretty common for cars to be shipped without air conditioning due to the additional weight of shipping. The air conditioning is then added at the port of entry, Long Beach in this case. That doesn't really make too much sense to me though since the Tundras are built in the US and air conditioning is standard on the double cab. I do have the Cold Weather package with the upgraded heater, maybe this has something to do with it. Has anyone else heard of this before?

I think your dealer's nuts. No way they'd let it leave the factory without the a/c installed. There are to many components in that sealed system that would be very easy to install as the trucks being assembled and a big pain in the a$$ to do at a dealer or port. Besides the factory's quality control would be compromised if they depended on the dealer. I might be wrong but it just doesn't make sense to me to do it any other way. I could see that they might leave some aluminum components off that are easy to access on imports from Japan to avoid the salt air exposure but not those assembled in country.

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to siphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????
If your engine doesn't consume ANY oil it will seize???
Some people should not be allowed access to tools without books!!!
