Default Check engine light when starting - 2005 DC

First, I have a 2005 Tundra Doublecab 2wd with about 4500 miles. This morning when I started the truck the "Maintenance Required" light was flashing and then turned off when I pressed on the gas pedal. Throughout the day I made several trips and each time I started the engine the check engine light would come on and then turn off after 10-20 seconds. Any ideas what would cause this??

it is warning you that you have 500 miles until you need an oil change, in another 500 miles it will stay on until you have it reset (when you get the oil changed)

do a search, i believe you can reset it yourself if you don't want it to flash at every startup until then

Wow! Thanks for that piece of information. I was about ready to take it to the dealership to have them diagnose the problem. I will do a search to find out how to reset this warning. Thanks again!!

Reset information for the "Maintenance Required" light is in your owner's manual.

Did you change the oil? Use a Toyota Filter and change the oil. Reset the light, and save all reciepts for warranty reasons. Check your Maintence book as well and inspect all the parts they say to inspect. If you have issues with any of those parts they could deny warranty due to them not being inspected by mechanic.
