Talking My New 06 Tundra, DC, Limited, TRD.

On January 10th, I traded in my 04 F-250, CC,SB, Lariat, 4x4, FX4 for an 06 Tundra, DC, Limited, with the TRD package! (It is Spectra Blue Mica)! I test drove both an F-150 Super Crew, Lariat, 4x4, and the Tundra, and had BOTH salesman work up numbers for me. As soon as I sat in and drove the Tundra, it was a no brainer!! I went in with an open mind about the Toyota, as I had NEVER driven one before. I used to be a dyed in the wool Ford fan. But, after driving the Tundra (I am a huge truck fan, and had read about them, and built several online.), I did not want the Ford. The Toyota out classed the F-150 in every way!! While the Toyota dealer was working up numbers, we went back to the Ford dealer, to listen to what #'s he came up with. And all I could think about was how much I loved the Tundra. So, I told him, that I wanted the Tundra, thanked him for his time and walked out!! We went back to the Toyota dealer and bought the Tundra!! (This is the second Toyota that we bought from this saleman!! I didn't want to buy from any other salesman either. It was his day off, and he came for me. David Wardrop {Hyannis Toyota} is his name, by the way. I didn't think honest and salesman could be in the same sentence!! He took great care of us when we bought out Solara Convertible, that I really wanted to do this deal with him!!) I LOVE this truck more and more!! I bought this truck 2 days before my Birthday too!! I never thought I would leave Ford, but after driving this Tundra, there is no way I can go back to Ford, ever. It is a far superior truck, in my opinion. Thanks for listening!! I am really happy and excited about this truck!!

Congrats on the new ride.....

I too have been driving Ford Trucks all my life....even at 14....LOL
My last Ford really cleaned out my wallet, but I was willing to give them a chance.
No comparison, test drove the F-150 Super Crew w/ a 5' bed
I then went down the street to Toyota.... That was it.

Nov. 30th changed my tune....The difference is simply amazing.

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine......

Congrats again...

THANKS! I DO love my truck!! The F-150 with that 5.5 foot bed gets the thumbs down from me too. The seats were rock hard.....YOU know, I don't have to explain!! I went to the Toyota dealer first, and looked around, found one I wanted to drive. We went to the Ford dealer, while waiting for our salesman to arrive.

I actually did about 6 months of homework on different trucks.
This Web-Site was one of the reasons I bought the DC...
I almost bought a Tacoma also, but I couldn't pass up the deal on the Tundra.
Plus my Wife wanted me to buy the bigger truck....Go Figure.....

Welcome and congrats!!

like Meenkya, the information from this site is one of the reasons I started looking seriously at the Tundra...then the truck itself is the reason I bought it.

Smile Re: My New 06 Tundra, DC, Limited, TRD.

I had read about them before, and have built a Tundra on numerous occasions on the Toyota site. But when I test drove it, it was the first time I had ever driven a Toyota truck. (We do have a Toyota Solara Convertible.) And it was also the last time I will ever drive a Ford!! I test drove an F-150, Super Crew, Lariat, 4x4. The Tundra blew it away! I LOVE it!! It is funny, when I went to joing here, I discovered that I already HAD, in July of this year! Weird, huh. I guess I knew at some point I was gonna buy a Tundra. LOL! Anyway. I am so enjoying it. I have some long commutes (300 miles round trip for 2 weeks. And 150 mile round trip for 1 week.) coming for training for my job, and this will be a pleasure to drive and won't kill me on gas $$$$$$. And when I go to work in Boston, it will be easier to manuever there!!

Congrats on the new Tundra The Ford is a heavier duty truck BUT cannot match the Tundra's reliability and resale value. IMO the Tundra is the best compromise of reliability, driving comfort, off road performance, and towing/cargo capacity you can buy today from ANY manufacture. Enjoy your new truck.
