Default Front Bumper Swap

Just did a pretty thorough seach about swapping my front (2000) bumper out in favor of a 2003 bumper. There were lots of posts and threads about guys wanting to do it, however no one with definitive answers. Some threads said that different brackets are required while others said that it is a bolt on swap. So I guess what I am looking for is an update on details. Anyone have info on the technicalities of this swap or better yet, someone who has done the swap? Thanks

Ryan

Hey, I'm just in the opposite. For the bumper swap, the front grille for an '03 to earlier models needs to be trimmed. For the '00 up, I'd suspect to prevent any large "gap-tooth" type grins you'd need to update the grille as well.

I'm curious as to WHY you'd want to replace a metal bumper with a plastic one?

i did it. you need the bumper, the grill, and the 2 filler plates in between. you will also need a few brackets for the backside. i forget the part numbers though. The bumper support can be left the same though

Well, I'm looking to color key the truck and as far as that goes, I think the 03 up bumpers look much cleaner. THanks Quicktoy for your input. Would like to see pics of your bodydropped tundra when it is done.
