Default need speedo help!

i removed my speedo cluster on my 06 tundra double cab to shut the light for the tire pressure warning system down. (i will be running wheels with no sensors and am sick of it flashing!) i didnt move any of the needles when the cover was apart, but now the speedo is off! when i shut the truck off the speedo needle drops below 0 all the way down. if i move it back up in to place it is accurate and stays in the correct position, but goes right back down after i shut the truck off and the needle drops again! any ideas? i have no clue, everything else is working correctly! thanks!

I did the same thing and I am now having problems with my fuel needle. At first the needle was on E and the gas light came on. I moved the the needle up, but it only goes down to about 3/4 when I turn the truck off. Does anyone know how I can fix this or do I need to buy a new speedometer? Thanks for the help.

I would fill the tank...do not cap off. Drive home, disassemble and set fuel needle to full. Then drive to gas station and fill a 2 or 3 gallon spare gas can with fuel and carry in back of truck.
Burn up gas in truck fuel tank (normal driving) until low fuel light comes on. Check needle position when light comes on. If needle is just above "E" then you fixed the problem.

If you run out of fuel before light comes on... check position of needle at that time and move needle to "E". Then pour fuel from gas can into tank... drive to gas station and fill tank. Do not cap off. Check needle position when tank is full. Needle should point to "F". Give needle time to reach "F"... about 4 minutes.

There is an easier way to get rid of the flashing light...

solution for tire pressure monitoring system

Just takes about 15 minutes and you don't have to mess with the guage cluster.
